Here is an interesting article, showing how the U.S. government is coming to the conclusion that Iraq has to be subdivided.

They have attempted to keep Iraq as a single nation, but without the fear factor of Saddam Hussein, it is not possible to keep the three main factions bound together into one nation.

It seems certain that this is the only way out of the current mess. And, by the way, it is a sign of Babylon falling into three pieces, as stated in Rev. 16:19, which I have written about in past web logs.
