A Teacher's Prayer
Jul 09, 2011
NOMINATED FOR "BEST EMAIL OF THE YEAR"
After being interviewed by the school administration, the prospective teacher said:
"Let me see if I've got this right . . . You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messags, & instiill in them a love for learning."You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, gang-ware, wage war on colds, flu, drugs, & sexually transmitted diseases, & raise their sense of self esteem & personal pride."You want me to teach them patriotism & good citizenship, sportsmanship, & fair play, & how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, & apply for a job."You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, & make sure that they all pass the final exams."You want me to provide them with an equal education--regardless of their handicaps, & communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish, or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, email, blogs, facebook, twitter, regular progress reports, & report cards."You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, & a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps."You want me to do all this, & then you tell me . . . I CAN'T PRAY?"
COMMENT: Is it not interesting that the Babylonian system destroys morality, sets itself up as god, does away with virtually all discipline (on pain of lawsuits), bans God's law, prayer, and any mention of Jesus, while promoting the study of all other religions . . . and then they expect the public to support the educational system, they expect teachers to bring forth well-educated and motivated students who are good citizens. That is a very tall order, regardless of the salary.
How long will it take before the people get fed up and demand that our government recognize God's authority and His right to rule what He created and establish moral laws for them to follow?
Forget the Alamo. Remember Nebuchadnezzar. When he had had his fill of grass, he finally recognized that God was sovereign, and His Kingdom was the only supreme Kingdom in the universe. See his confession of faith in Daniel 4:34-37.
Some day, that will be the confession of an American president.
