Specifically, the pastor of Most Holy Trinity Church in San Jose, Calfornia, announced that the group was divesting $3 million from Bank of America and moving the money to a credit union. He also called on California Attorney General Kamala Harris to take strong action to hold banks accountable for their unethical and illegal practices that have caused and prolonged the economic crisis.
The city of San Jose has also done the same. This is the same city where we held our "Joseph Conference" in 2010. It looks like the spirit of Joseph is alive and well.
That's $3 million less that BoA will be able to gamble in the stock market. That's $3 million more that the credit union will have to invest in the local community through loans.
