The Church prayed for sweet water and got it. Their prayer was based on Moses' miracle in Exodus 15:23-26. It was the occasion where God revealed Himself as Yahweh-Rapha, the Healer.

There is another story not mentioned which depicts this as well. It is Elisha's miracle in 2 Kings 2:18-22. Elisha threw salt into the bitter water of Jericho and it became sweet to this day.
