Here is an interesting news account, followed by a video which deals with stealth technology.

In the news account, a company is developing this stealth technology by bending light. But keep in mind that the Pentagon is always about 35 years ahead of the cutting edge technology in the public sector. So what the company is developing is 1970's technology. So it is not surprising that someone, somewhere would finally be able to video a soldier appearing out of nowhere.
