October 28, 1929 was called "Black Monday." On that day Wall Street crashed 13%.
October 29, 1929 Wall Street crashed another 12%.
October 29, 2012 Wall Street shut down for only the second time in history. The first time occurred last year when Hurricane Irene dropped by for a visit.
This time, October 29 is a Monday, and Hurricane Sandy is cause for another holiday celebration. Wall Street will probably be closed again on Tuesday, and perhaps longer, depending on what kind of situation New York finds itself in afterward.
