He is said to be the only optimist at the conference, and he tells the secret of success for Iceland's economy. Recall that just four years ago Iceland was bankrupt. They allowed the banks to go bankrupt, arrested bankers and politicians for fraud, and refused the austerity programs demanded by the IMF. Now they are doing very well in just four years.
