It seems to me that political parties ought to be neutral in the process of choosing candidates for president. After all, primaries are held in order to determine the peoples’ choice, right?

Wrong. The top leadership in both parties always step in to swing votes to their own view of who ought to be the top candidate. In other words, they play favorites. This must be part of the definition of Democratic process.

So the Republican party opposes Donald Trump:

And the Democratic party opposes Bernie Sanders:

In other words, the leadership of both parties are trying to force their own people to vote for their own favorite candidate that they have chosen ahead of time.

Perhaps the people ought to spank the leaders of both parties.
