Issue No. 344 - Cover Letter

Dear Friends,

The location for our Passover conference (May 12-14) has had to be changed, because the DoubleTree hotel in Joplin is being renovated, and construction problems came up. The sales manager called at the end of February, telling me that they won’t be able to open for business before our conference is scheduled.

That is an inconvenience for all of us, of course. I apologize for the change. The sales manager tried to find another place locally where we might meet, but she was unable to find anything.

But then, unexpectedly, the sales manager at the local DoubleTree hotel here in Minneapolis called to see if she might arrange a future conference for us. I asked her if May 12-14 was open, and she said that it was. So we are now making preparations to hold our conference at the same hotel where we have met a few times before.

The basic room rate will be $109/day, unless you want a suite for $149. We have secured 50 rooms from Thursday night through Saturday night, and another 40 rooms for Sunday night.

The hotel address is:

DoubleTree Hotel
1500 Park Place Blvd.
Minneapolis, MN 55416
Tel: 952-542-8600

We do not yet have an online link to make reservations, but I should be posting one shortly on our website and will also send it in the next cover letter for April. If you use the hotel telephone, be sure to tell them that you are with the conference hosted by God’s Kingdom Ministries.

Those of you who made reservations at the DoubleTree in Joplin will have to start over and make another reservation here in Minneapolis. Since the sales manager in Joplin only took names and did not take any credit card information, you will not have to cancel. Technically, she was only taking names for a future reservation.

My Travel Schedule

I am planning a two-week trip to the Philippines the last week in May and the first week in June. I will be teaching in and around Davao City and perhaps also in General Santos. Both are in the southern part of Mindanao.

I am also tentatively planning a two-week trip to Cambodia in July to see what can be done to start a Kingdom work there. I have a key Cambodian contact who lives here in Minneapolis, as well as other potential contacts.

Operation Protective Shield prayer campaign

Beginning February 24, 2017 I posted an announcement on a weblog online that we were beginning a prayer campaign to protect the president and all government officials and employees from spiritual warfare being conducted by witches. They are engaging in spiritual warfare to drive President Trump out of office.

Many do not take such curses seriously enough, but I do. So we are following Paul’s instructions in 1 Timothy 2:1-4, which says,

1 First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires [thelei, “will have”] all men [including those in authority] to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

Whether we agree or disagree with President Trump’s policies, Christians are admonished to pray for him. The purpose of prayer is not to support whatever he does, right or wrong, but that he may “come to the knowledge of the truth.” This will allow us to “lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.”

In 2 Corinthians 5:18-20 Paul says that we are ambassadors to the world, called to give them the word (message) of conciliation. Conciliation (katalasso) is a one-sided action; when the other side responds to that message, a REconciliation (apokatalasso) takes place (two-sided). In this passage, Paul uses the term katalasso, because it is an act that Jesus did while we were still His enemies. He conciliated the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and we are given this message to the world.

Operation Protective Shield

(Model Prayer to be prayed at least once a day for an indefinite period of time)

Father in heaven, we come before your throne of grace in the name of Jesus and under His blood. We ask you to put a wall of fire around President Trump, his cabinet, all who are employed in this administration, all government officials, and their families. Let this be a wall of protection from all curses, hexes, and spells that are spoken by ungodly people everywhere. Let all such curses be rendered harmless by the blood of Jesus Christ, and let them fall to the ground with no detrimental effect.

We ask also that your Spirit would cover and fill all those who are within this wall of fire, so that Your goodness and kindness would bring sinners to repentance. Wherever there is evil, let it flee from Your presence. Demonstrate the power of Your love toward all. Show them how You have conciliated Your enemies. Teach Your people to be ambassadors of this word of conciliation, so that those who fight You may cease their strife and seek to be reconciled with You.

We pray also for all witches and Satanists, who do not yet know that you are not holding their trespasses against them. Be gracious to them and open their eyes, so that they may know that Jesus loved them so much that He came to die for them that they might be reconciled to Him.

Finally, we pray for all who remain in darkness, that the light of Truth may shine upon them. Pour out Your Holy Spirit upon the world, as You have promised, so that Your Kingdom may be manifested in its fulness.

Thank-you, heavenly Father, for answering this prayer, for we pray according to Your will in the name of Jesus. Amen.
